BBC OpenDocumentary is a platform where documentaries are no longer closed products, but can be pulled apart to generate new ones, not only by professionals, but everyone to create a series. Exisiting BBC documentaries are used as the foundation of this platform to provide a rich resource pool for users to reference, watch and learn, but then have opportunities to create, calloborate and share. Users feed knowledge and resources back to aid platform growth. Together, BBC and public, through Open Documentary can redefine documentary and the making of this. All created documentaires are fed back into the platform for referencing and pulled apart to make new ones. Together, the BBC, Open and Future documentaries can keep the platform growing by connecting existing and new documentaries together. This platform can create many possibilities. People can always get inspiration, not only to make documentary, but also create other products. As documentary is not a singular product, through user participation, it is used to generate new material for shared knowledge and enable multiple points of view.Collaborative project with: Hwiyoung Jeon, Soyoung Kim, Sunghwan Kim and Attanon Wongluang

MyRe is a service that enables users to organise, manage, be aware, save and contribute. This is a three phase service where the first immediate step will require users to register, after which they will receive a MyRe card that acts as a key to this service. First phase is receipt management, the second and third phase is for future development that will include ‘responsible’ points and collaboration with charities. All data and information can then be accessed on their online personal accounts at www.myre.co.uk. This service is user focused and created through looking at our current system of transactions, receipts, loyalty services and how we can make changes for a future. Please see the video below for more information (may take a minute to load and appear).MyRe was part of the Making Believe exhibition that opened during London Design Week.

On/Off is a book which tells of all the disgruntlement that the user and remote gets into, and the possible relief for the scenarios. This book is intended to be light hearted and fun, and to show what a little thought and imagination can create. Being a TV addict, I have often been frustrated by the unhelpfulness of the remote control, from the confusing buttons to the 'Where has it gone!' situations. This project developed into a research based exploration, from observing and analysing to mainly questioning how the existing products actually relate to the user and environment. TVs are constantly being upgraded with new technology, lots of detail into how it fits within their surrounding, but what about the remote? Sometimes the two products does not even seem like they belong together!

Origami Wallpaper is a fuse of the art of origami with wallpaper, creating something that is usually 2D into 3D. It is intriguing that the simple act of folding a piece of paper can become something textural and graphical. Paper is such a versatile material, it can be printed on, folded into almost anything, or even sewn into, yet it normally is delicate and fragile. This was an exploratory project, learning more about the craft of origami as well as the different and intense patterns that can be created, but also looking at design from an art perspective. The first image on the second slide is a section from the June 2006 issue of Inside Out Magazine, as they published the idea of Origami Wallpaper!Paper, Thread

Wuka is a wind up cooker and heater that uses man power to create energy useful for cooking. A simple switch at the front to change from cooking to heating, and an electric port at the back that can be used when electricity is available, but the feature is the self winding system. By rotating the handle, an internal coil is tightened that stores the energy, and when released, it spins the dynamo which in turn creates heat to cook on. This project was inspired by townships which use paraffin stoves due to low cost, but there are many risks involved, apart from being highly flammable, over prolonged use, the fumes inhaled damages the internal organs. Wuka is a more sustainable and long term use product which provides independence and the satisfaction of generating one's own power.Plastic, Steel, Components

x,y,z is a bedside table with a twist! The top shelf faces the bed rather than away to provide easy access when the user is in bed, so instead of reaching out and around to get something from the table, simply stretch arm and take. The simple twist also provides privacy, whilst visually, when in use, the table would not seem too cluttered as only one shelf is exposed from each side. The table is made by using only one mould. A few sheets of Aeroply are glued together and moulded into shape using a bag press to form half cubes, which are then assembled together once all four pieces are made. The surfaces are then covered in Wenge Veneer and the edges are gloss finished to highlight the curves.Wenge Veneer, Lacquer Paint
